Modi 2.0 anniversary: Party goes virtual to highlight Modi’s achievements

As the Narendra Modi government celebrates the second term in power, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going all out to highlight Modi’s 2.0 achievements. While earlier, the party focused on meetings and rallies to tell the voters what the government has achieved. This time it will all be done virtually.

The corona pandemic has marred physical celebrations and ceremonies. Major cities in India remain under lockdown as India battles novel corona.

Narendra Modi occupied the office of Prime Minister for the second term on 26 May 2019. The version 2.0 has been eventful and challenging. Probably the most significant challenge so far has been to combat the coronavirus pandemic and rehabilitation and reviving of the economy, which was lockdown for almost two months. The epidemic has shaken the economy, displaced millions of migrants from cities, and posed a massive challenge for the state and central government to rehabilitate them.

In a communique, The BJP announced that the party would highlight almost 100 pointer achievements of the Modi government. The list includes the end of Triple Talaq, changing the status of Jammu and Kashmir and carving out of Ladakh through the abrogation of Article 370, historical judgment on Ram temple dispute making way for the building of temple and more.

Earlier, the ministers, party leaders, and activists used to stage rallies and meetings across the country’s length and breadth to share Modi’s achievements. This time they will do the same online.

The party has planned e-rallies for cities and towns and will connect to about 500 groups in the week as part of its reach out.

All government department will showcase their achievements through online platforms and published communications.

In addition to 1000-odd online events, the party will also advertise the message of PM Modi on Atma Nirbhar Bharat or self – reliant India. The message would be to encourage and use local products and producers.

Strategy for online outreach

The party will extensively use Facebook, Whatsapp, and Twitter platforms for their reach out. The party will form booth-level what’s app groups and will share messages from 27-29 May.

The party head JP Nadda will connect with party supporters on Facebook live.

About 750 e-rallies would be organized. State and national level leaders will connect through 1000 virtual conferences.
