Microsoft Rolls Out ChatGPT-Powered Teams Premium

Microsoft has launched ChatGPT-Powered premium version of Microsoft Teams. It will cost $7 (later $10). ChatGPT has also announced a $20 monthly subscription plan.

On Wednesday, Microsoft Corp. released a premium Teams messaging service powered by ChatGPT to streamline meetings using the AI chatbot that has been sweeping Silicon Valley.

According to Microsoft, the monthly fee for the premium service will be $7 in June and $10 in July.

ChatGPT, which is owned by OpenAI, will allow Teams users to build meeting templates, suggest tasks, and generate automatic meeting notes. 

Microsoft has stated its intention to incorporate ChatGPT’s technology into all of its products, paving the way for more competition with rival Alphabet Inc.’s Google. Earlier this month, Microsoft introduced a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI.

When announcing Microsoft’s new service, Satya Nadella shared a link to a blog article written by Microsoft Teams VP Nicole Herskowitz.

As we make meetings more intelligent, tailored, and secure, we’re introducing the power of huge language models, like OpenAI’s GPT, to Teams Premium, Nadella said on Twitter.

The chatbot is at the vanguard of generative AI, an area where more and more major tech companies are investing their resources. The chatbot can generate prose or poetry on demand. 

On Wednesday, ChatGPT unveiled a $20 monthly subscription option that will provide users priority access to latest features and enhancements as well as speedier responses.

According to Microsoft, the OpenAI-owned ChatGPT will create meeting notes, suggest activities, and provide real-time translations to make meetings more efficient and effortless. 

The conference will be divided into sections by its “intelligent recap” feature so that attendees can examine the material that pertains to them the most.

Microsoft stated that real-time AI-powered translations from 40 spoken languages are now available with live translations for captions in Teams Premium.

Microsoft announced last month that it would increase its investment in OpenAI, pinning its future on the firm and technology that gave ChatGPT, the chatbot sensation. Several of the company’s consumer and enterprise products will soon feature AI-powered features.
