Micron, Foxconn, AMD To Attend Semicon India 2023, Organized By MEIT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inaugurating the ‘Semicon India 2023’ event in Gandhinagar. The event is organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and aims to showcase India’s semiconductor strategy and development.

The key executives from companies like Micron and Foxconn will also be in the event. The event will highlight India’s progress in building a global semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem.

Prime Minister Modi visited an exhibition before the inaugural ceremony. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw spoke about India’s economic growth and the importance of developing the semiconductor industry.

Leaders from the semiconductor industry expressed their support for India’s vision and announced investments in the sector.

The conference aims to bring together global leaders to discuss the semiconductor industry. The Gujarat government has introduced a Semiconductor Policy to promote growth in the sector.

Micron plans to establish a semiconductor assembly and test plant in Gujarat. The event is the second edition, following a successful first edition in Bengaluru.

Semicon India 2023 is an event that will take place from July 25 to 30. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the event on July 28.

During the event, various companies and leaders in the semiconductor industry express their support and commitment to India.

India is being a global semiconductor hub and announced investments and plans to expand their operations in the country.

Micron plans to build a semiconductor facility in Gujarat, India. This will create around 5,000 jobs and potentially 15,000 more in the community. The company hopes this will attract other investments in the sector.

Young Liu, Chairman of Foxconn, recently spoke about a conversation he had with PM Modi. Liu believes that “IT” stands for both India and Taiwan, emphasizing the strong partnership between the two countries. He encourages India to work closely with Taiwan.

The semiconductor company, AMD, will invest $400 million in India within the next 5 years. The company has plans to hire 3,000 engineers by 2028.
