Meta Prepares For AR Glasses at Connect Event

Meta, which runs the social networking site Facebook, is setting the stage for its annual Connect conference at its campuses in California. This is big, but they could be showing the first paired augmented reality (AR) glasses from Apple. They will also review returns with their virtual reality and Artificial Intelligence investment prospects.

One of them will enable them to choose which voice is to be used by Meta for their chatbot. Some of those voices might be recognizable, if you’ve heard them before such as Judi Dench or John Cena.

Meta’s head Mark Zuckerberg seems to have been quite keen on AR for quite some time now. He has been dedicated to this and other Metaverse ideas since then in 2021. However, bringing wearable AR glasses into operation to perform well has not been an easy process.

AI, AR, and Metaverse technologies are being lime funded by Meta with a lot of money. The investment firms believe that investment will be between $37 billion to $40 billion in the year 2024. This unit is called Reality Labs, which reported a loss of $8.3bn in the first half of this year.

These first AR glasses will not be mass-produced for everyone; Meta workers and a mere handful of developers will get a set. A lot will be spent to make each pair.” Meta’s dream is to sell augmented reality glasses to everyone; they think that it will be possible by 2027 when the glasses should be quite inexpensive to produce.

In addition, while working on AR, the Meta company has employed Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Those glasses have captured cameras and an AI companion they include. They have been successful and have sold more than 700 thousand pairs in the last year.

Meta is in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the firm that manufactures Ray-Ban. They could also collaborate on the AR glasses as well, but it wasn’t specified clearly. The next version of the smart glasses might provide a small display for displaying text and pictures.
