Meta Appoints Vikas Purohit As Director of Global Business Group In India

Meta (formerly Facebook) has appointed Vikas Purohit as Meta’s India head of global business. Vikas Purohit is an IIM Bangalore alumnus and ex-Tata CLiq CEO.

The firm said on Monday that social media platform Meta has recruited Vikas Purohit as Director of Global Business Group in India to oversee the strategy and execution of the charter that is targeted at the top advertisers and agency partners in the nation.

According to a statement released by Meta, Purohit will answer to Arun Srinivas, Director and Head of Ads Business for Meta in India.

Inviting Vikas to Meta’s team, Srinivas stated, “I am happy to welcome him as he joins our crew to redefine the impact that Meta platforms can perform in enabling businesses, helping India’s economic growth, and creating the country’s digital advertising ecosystem.”

Purohit will be in charge of Meta’s interactions with the biggest companies in India and the agency sector. 

In his new position, Purohit will be in charge of the company’s strategic partnerships with the top brands and advertising agencies in India. 

He will also work with the media and creative ecosystems to hasten the adoption of digital technologies by the biggest advertisers and agencies.

The primary agency teams, business solutions teams, and business vertical teams for the company will report to him.

Purohit, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, has over 20 years of experience in senior business, sales, and marketing roles at organizations like Tata CLiQ, Amazon, Reliance Brands, Aditya Birla Group, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Prior to joining Meta, Purohit was Tata CLiQ’s CEO. Prior to working for Tommy Hilfiger and Reliance Brands, he began his career with the Aditya Birla Group. He was crucial in creating and overseeing Amazon Fashion while at Amazon.
