Men’s T20 world cup: Fans Get Disappointed as Men in Blue Loses Against New Zealand

Team India lost a consecutive second match in the T20 World Cup. On 30 October, India lost its second match, which was against New Zealand, by eight wickets.

Indian captain Virat Kohli was at the focal point of numerous online trolls and memes as the Men in Blue lost its second successive round of Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 to New Zealand.

India rolled out two changes from the side that were defeated by Pakistan last week as Ishan Kishan and Shardul Thakur got a spot in the beginning XI in place of the injured Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The experiment of sending Ishan Kishan as an opener with K L Rahul, moving Rohit Sharma to number three, followed by captain Kohli at number four, didn’t work for men in blue. Ishan failed to give the kind of start India needed at the top of the order. India’s unexpected moves cost them big time, and it proved they were unsure of their plans. The Indian batting lineup easily tumbled down like a castle of the card.

India was on 75/5 in the 15th over, and fans hoped for the team to at least score above 100. Later down the list, Ravindra Jadeja arose as the team’s best scorer with 26 runs, while Hardik Pandya was the other player to score 20-runs. Finally, India was able to give New Zealand a target of 111 runs to chase.

Captain Virat Kohli got out on Sodhi’s spell, getting caught to Boult at long-on following a slow knock nine off 17 balls. Later, Adam Milne made sure Rishabh Pant was not able to score more than 12 runs.

In reciprocal, New Zealand got going with a blast because of openers like Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell before the former was excused for 20 runs off 17 balls in by Jasprit Bumrah

Mitchell continued to proceed with his attack, crushing 49 off only 35 balls before getting out by Bumrah. In the end, Kane Williamson ensured that New Zealand won the game by 112 runs, and 33 balls were left.
