Manoj Bajpayee To Contest The 2024 Lok Sabha Election From Bihar?

Manoj Bajpayee, a well-known Bollywood actor, is making headlines about his possible entry into politics. There was a rumor that he might contest the next 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Bihar’s West Champaran constituency.

However, Bajpayee has clearly denied these reports. On social media, he humorously asked if someone informed the reporters about this or if they had dreamt it. He stated firmly that he has no plans to join politics and is completely sure about it.

Bajpayee’s connection with politics started being speculated after his meetings in 2020 with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son, Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar.

Bajpayee’s Strong Bihar Connection

Bajpayee comes from Belwa village in Bihar’s West Champaran district. This area is currently represented in the Lok Sabha by Sanjay Jaiswal from the Bharatiya Janata Party. Jaiswal has been winning this seat since 2009 and his popularity has been growing in each election.

‘Killer Soup’ – Bajpayee’s New Netflix Thriller

Apart from this political rumor, Manoj Bajpayee is also in the news for his upcoming project, ‘Killer Soup,’ a crime thriller on Netflix.

He shared a shirtless photo on Instagram, showing off his physique, hinting at his role in this series. The series, directed by Abhishek Chaubey, also stars Konkona Sensharma and follows the story of a cook whose life takes unexpected turns.

Advocating for Content over Box Office in Cinema

Additionally, Bajpayee talked about the importance of content over box office success in cinema. He expressed concern that the focus on box office numbers might hinder the evolution of filmmaking.

Bajpayee, with a career spanning three decades, emphasized the need for good stories and performances in films rather than just commercial success.

His recent film ‘Joram’ was released in theatres to showcase different content, even though it might not attract a large audience.

His message is clear: filmmaking should prioritize creativity and storytelling over merely making money. ‘Killer Soup’ is set to premiere on Netflix on 11th January.
