Man Challenges Vivek Agnihotri To Make ‘Manipur Files’, Director Responds

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, known for making movies like “The Kashmir Files” and “The Tashkent Files,” recently announced a new project called “The Kashmir Files Unreported.”

The upcoming docu-drama is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. Following this announcement, a Twitter user asked Vivek to make a movie called “The Manipur Files” based on the violence in Manipur if he was “man enough.”

Vivek responded to the user’s comment with a witty reply, saying, “Thanks for having so much faith in me. But, do you want me to make all the films? Isn’t anyone else not man enough in your ‘Team India’ (opposition parties alliance) to be a filmmaker?”

The violence in Manipur has been a cause of concern in recent times. It started in Churachandpur town on May 3 when the Meitei community demanded scheduled tribe status, which was opposed by Kuki groups.

This led to protests and clashes between the two communities, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries. The violence has continued for two months, with over 150 people dead and about 50,000 injured.

A shocking video from Manipur surfaced on social media, showing the horrifying reality of the violence. The video captured two tribal women being paraded naked and molested by a group of men. This video sparked outrage across the nation.

Vivek Agnihotri’s response to the user’s request for a movie about Manipur indicates that he is focused on his current projects, but also highlights the need for filmmakers and media to shed light on important issues happening in different parts of India.

The violence in Manipur is a grave concern, and it is essential for awareness and action to address the situation and protect the rights and safety of the people affected.

The Twitter user challenged the director Vivek Agnihotri in a taunting way, which seems to belong to opposition parties. That’s why Vivek responded to the user this way.
