Mamata Banerjee’s four-day visit to Delhi was successful as she met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Lalu Prasad in an outreach to bring opposition parties on a common podium.
On Friday, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said the opposition parties need to come together to save our democracy and called her Delhi visit a success.
Mamata said, I’m very concerned about farmers protest, petrol price rise, and condition of laborers, growing unemployment, and the rising cases of coronavirus. This is the right time for all the Oppositions to come together and save our democracy, she added.
Beating the BJP in the Bengal elections was not an easy task, particularly after BJP’s massive road election rally. From facing the exit of many TMC members and various criticisms during her 2021 assembly election campaign, Mamata didi kept strong, gathered up her strength, learned from her past mistakes, and marched forward.
In a meeting with journalists on Wednesday she said, it will be “Modi versus the rest of nation” in 2024 and “if Bengal was able to do it, so can the rest of nation.” Our slogan is “save democracy save the nation.” I’m yet to meet senior Rajya Sabha member Sharad Pawar and pay a visit to Delhi every two months.
The Modi government has taken over 3.7 lakh crore rupees from the common man’s pocket by increasing the petrol, diesel and domestic gas prices. The number one agenda is that the nation must develop; we should come together and work towards developing our people, she added.
