The initiative launched by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was aimed at restarting the almost broken manufacturing sector of India after it was realized that the country was getting overly dependent on imports from other countries.
Through this initiative, the Indian government tries to make India’s manufacturing sector an integral part of the global supply chain so that a balance can be brought to the already functioning oval. It would also prove to be a huge opportunity for the entrepreneurs as even they can step up tehri small businesses through this project.
The scheme has received a lot of success after some initial hurdles and a report launched by export e-commerce platform eBay titled “India Small Online Business Trade Report 2021” also stated that those using the platform export Made in India products to an average of 42 different foreign markets each year.
Not only this but 92 percent export to more than 10 markets and over 93 percent of the exports to four or more contents which made the collective total reach at 210 markets. This is a huge achievement for Indian bron products. For India, teh top destinations are however the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Germany.
This is a way for the west to divert their attention from China, say experts. China has one of the biggest manufacturing industries but after some conflicts and business-related differences, many countries are avoiding dealing with Chinese industries and finding a new joint for small-scale manufacturing needs. The states to have the highest share of new sellers on the platform are Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa. Other states in contention are Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha (43%), Uttarakhand, West Bengal (38%) and Gujarat.
