PM Modi is visiting Maharashtra to inaugurate 2 Vande Bharat trains, 2 elevated roads corridors, 1 a vehicular underpass plus an institute campus today.
During his visit to the metropolitan area on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two Vande Bharat trains from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), a new campus of a Dawoodi Bohra educational institute, and two elevated roadways corridors and a vehicular underpass.
Railway officials told reporters on Thursday that after landing in the city, Modi will first flag off the CSMT-Solapur Vande Bharat Express in the afternoon and shortly after, the second semi-high-speed train connecting the financial capital to Sainagar Shirdi, in the Ahmednagar district.
The 455-kilometer journey between the nation’s commercial capital and the leading textile metropolis would be covered by the Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Express in 6 hours and 30 minutes, saving travelers close to an hour over the existing schedule.
Additionally, it will make it easier to get to significant pilgrimage sites like Alandi in the Pune district, Akkalkot, Tuljapur, and Pandharpur near Solapur and Siddheshwar in Solapur.
The 343-kilometer trip to one of India’s busiest temple cities, as well as other pilgrimage sites in Nashik, Trimbakeshwar, and Shani Singanapur, would be completed in 5 hours and 25 minutes by the Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Express, cutting the existing duration by about two hours.
As a result, there will be three Vande Bharat Express trains departing from Mumbai, making Maharashtra the first state to offer 2 intra-state Vande Bharat services.
Officials have confirmed that among other dignitaries, the CSMT event will be attended by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Modi will present infrastructure projects to the country and inaugurate a brand-new institution of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah (The Saifee Academy), the primary educational institution of the Dawoodi Bohra community, at Marol in the neighborhood of Andheri later in the day.
Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah works to preserve the community’s literary and academic traditions.
In addition, the Prime Minister will open the vehicular underpass at Kurar in the northern Malad area of Vakola-Kurla and MTNL-LBS (Lal Bahadur Shastri) elevated corridor wings on the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road.
