Made-In-India Battle Royale ‘Indus’ Coming Soon, Gets 50 Lakhs Pre-Registrations

Indus, a battle royale game developed by Indian startup SuperGaming, has reached over 5 million pre-registrations on Google Play. The game is set to be released in closed beta during the upcoming festive season.

SuperGaming has released a cinematic trailer for the game, featuring voices from prominent personalities and creators such as Olympic shooter Heena Sidhu and Indian gaming YouTuber Techno Gamerz.

The company is also working with content creators to produce engaging content around the game.

SuperGaming, founded in 2017, is known for developing mobile games such as MaskGun, Silly Royale, and Tower Conquest.

The company is also building its own gaming engine called SuperPlatform for running real-time multiplayer games.

With Indus, SuperGaming aims to create a futuristic society with Indian cultural elements to provide players with a fresh and immersive experience.

According to SuperGaming CEO Roby John, around 400 million Indians play battle royale games, making it a billion-dollar market in the country.

However, there has not been a game specifically built for an Indian audience until now.

John believes that the timing is right, as the Indian audience is ready for a made-in-India game that can compete with international titles.

India is home to 390 million online gamers, according to a report by FICCI-EY. While the number of gamers in the country increased by 30 million last year, not many new games were released by Indian gaming studios. SuperGaming is one of the few companies tapping into the opportunities in the Indian gaming market.

The battle royale genre is particularly popular in India, with games like BGMI and Garena Free Fire engaging the country’s youth.

As the mobile gaming market matures, Indian developers like SuperGaming are taking charge and ensuring that India is well-represented in the gaming industry.
