Despite being one of the best nations in some of the sports around the world, India has its share of issues when it comes to propagating the idea of importance among people. Be it, parents or kids, these set mindsets hamper the process of growth in the country.
Hence, to talk about these things, politicians gathered in the parliament to discuss the need for the promotion of sports in the country. It has now opened the forum for the discussion to amplify the promotion of sports in the coming days and also asked leaders to ponder upon ways to do that.
The issue made its way to the Lok Sabha as Gaurav Gogoi of Congress asked the government on the conclusion or result of the various schemes that they implemented with regards to sports. He seeked response to the seven years of investment that the government made in the field of sports.
He then questioned the center about their vision for promoting the sports in the country as he emphasized on the qualities people learn from sports such as hard work, leadership and unity of teamwork.
The discussion was furthermore joined by Anubhav Mohanty of BJD who appreciated the initiatives and efforts taken by the BJP especially when it comes to promoting the importance of fitness among the masses by use of sports. He gave examples of Fit India Movement and Khelo India which were initiatives taken by the Indian government to promote the idea of sports in as many people as possible and make sports available to all.
