The Lanka Premier League 2024 is set to kick off in July. The cricket fans are counting down the days. This tournament is similar to IPL, it is hosted by Sri Lanka’s premier franchise cricket T20 competition and features five teams battling it out for the coveted trophy.
The league includes B-Love Kandy, Galle Marvels, Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, and Jaffna Kings.
The game is starting on July 1 with an opening match between B-Love Kandy and Dambulla Sixers at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The tournament’s final is on July 21 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
After the T20 World Cup this game will promise an exciting 3-weeks for cricket lovers. In Lanka Premier League local and international players will participate.
Let us remind you Sri Lanka failed to progress beyond the group stage in the World Cup 2024 and after that the focus now turns to the LPL for the players and fans.

Format of the match:
Each team will play against the others twice in the league stage, totaling eight games. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, which include Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, an Eliminator, and the Final, following the IPL format.

For fans in India, the Star Sports Network is the official broadcaster. You can watch the live match on it. Apart from this, the Disney+ Hotstar will stream the matches live. Viewers will need a premium subscription which is Rs. 499 for a year.
