Land Grabbing case to be investigated further after minister Rajender’s name pops up

Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao has finally opened up about the land grabbing case in the state and has ordered a probe in the matter after cabinet minister Etala Rajender’s name came into the picture. He is a prominent person in the state and his name in the matter has shifted the dynamics of the politics in the state. 

Rao asked the vigilance department to investigate the land grabbing matter and also provide a detailed report regarding the involvement of the cabinet minister for health. He expects a preliminary report as soon as possible. DG Purnachander rao has been given the responsibility to handle the case. 

The whole matter was brought into light after it was revealed that eight farmers, who come from Achampeta and Hakimpet villages in Masaipeta Mandal of Medak district complained against the health minister. They had complained that the followers of Rajender had illegally occupied the lands that were assigned to them and also threatened them to leave the land.

A few days later, the company of the same complaint was sent to minister Harish Rao along with other party leaders such as MP Prabhakar Reddy, Narsapur MLA Madan Reddy, chief secretary Somesh Kumar and Medak collector Harish. It was only after they received the copy of the complaint, the matter was brought before the chief minister and he ordered a probe into the matter. 

The complaint said that the farmers got land in 1994 by the government itself. It was allotted to Chakali Lingaiah, Bichchavva, Krishna, Nagulu and Parashuram each 1.20 acres. But since the last few months, two of the leaders who are apparently close to the health minister have been trying to take control over the land. 

The letter added, “They were trying to illegally capture their lands saying your lands are taken back by the government and about 100 acres of land belongs to the poor BC, SC, ST was grabbed. Among them, some sheds were built for the establishment of a large poultry industry without any permissions.”

After being confronted by the media, the minister said that he was being ‘misrepresented’. He said that he is well aware of everyone’s history and thus demons sitting judge inquiry. He also added that if he is proven wrong or guilty, he will quit politics.
