Kuwait is deporting all the expats as a punishment, who protested against ex-BJP leader Nupur Sharma, in Fahaheel. Their visa will be canceled permanently.
Those who took part in rallies against Nupur Sharma’s remarks in Kuwait were severely punished. The demonstrators would be forced to return to their respective countries, according to the Gulf country.
Their visa will be revoked permanently because they “violated the country’s rules and regulations.”
On Sunday, the Kuwaiti government took harsh measures against people participating in rallies following comments made about Prophet Mohammad by former BJP politicians Nupur Sharma & Naveen Jindal.
The demonstrators would be extradited to their respective countries, according to the Gulf country.
According to state media, they broke Kuwaiti rules and regulations prohibiting foreigners from holding sit-ins or rallies.
The All India Convener of Pragya Pravah, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliate, tweeted about it –
“The Govt of Kuwait decided to deport Indians who conducted a protest rally in Fahaheel city of Kuwait against Prophet remarks by Nupur Sharma. Their Visa will be canceled permanently and will be deported to India.”
Protests erupted in Fahaheel on June 10 after Friday prayers in response to the ex-BJP leaders’ statements.
Migrants from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are said to be among those taking part in the demonstrations.
