Kremlin Blames The West: Russia thinks West has a strategy in place that India can play anti-China games. An affirmative statement was made at the general meeting of the state-run think tank Russian International Affairs Council recently, where Sergey Lavrov also accused Western powers of trying to undermine Russia’s ties with India.
Russia is in the race, though quiet out of the first five spots in developing a virus candidate with efficacy to match that of the ones developed by US and Germany. Its Sputnik IV has not been widely tested but is going to come out in the market to inoculate Russians.
The Kremlin has been trying to ease of the steam building up between China and India. It has indicated but indirectly that the American tactics of using economic sanctions and cyber-attacks isn’t the right way to garner support amongst other nations. Russia has been seeing its power diminishing as the pandemic was redefined the dynamics of nations and there geopolitical friendships across the globe.
With oil not being as princely as it was, India has also redefined its economic standpoint. It has retracted from supporting China as a trade partner and is now looking at other brighter horizons, all this time, working on self-reliance.
Lavrov has further said, “India is currently an object of the Western countries’ persistent, aggressive and devious policy as they are trying to engage it in anti-China games by promoting Indo-Pacific strategies, the so-called ‘Quad’ while at the same time, the West is attempting to undermine our close partnership and privileged relations with India.”
Indian officials have not commented on such statements, which makes India look like a child that has been duped by someone who knows how to do it after all.
