In many states of India, women are contributing by sewing homemade facial masks for needy amid coronavirus pandemic.
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’s personal security officer stitched three thousand facial masks for people amid coronavirus.
The 29-year-old, Amarareshwari said that she started stitching facial masks when the government announced lockdown. Amid coronavirus, there was much shortage in protective masks.
After seeing the dedication of Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Telangana DGP Mahendra Reddy during coronavirus pandemic, she got inspired and decided to contribute by stitching 3000 masks.
Amarareshwari’s target is to sew around five thousand facial masks to help in a small way in the coronavirus crisis.
Similarly, In Kota city of Rajasthan, women self-help groups (SHGs), helped in sewing 51,000 masks for medical staff and the public and was paid handsomely amid lockdown.

Around 39 women work under the aegis of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY–NULM) and the Kota Municipal Corporation (KMC).
DAY-NULM is a government scheme that seeks to decrease poverty in urban low-income families by empowering them to be self-employed and gain better opportunities. The women SHGs group is receiving more assignments of sewing facial masks.
