Kamal Nath, Son Nakul Nath To Switch From Congress To BJP: Sources

In Madhya Pradesh, there is speculation surrounding former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath’s potential defection from the Congress to the BJP.

This speculation intensified when Nakul Nath removed the Congress mention from his social media bio shortly after his father arrived in Delhi.

The BJP state president, VD Sharma, mentioned that the party’s doors are open for upset Congress leaders, hinting at a possible shift of loyalties.

Several Congress leaders, including former MLA Dinesh Ahirwar and Congress District President Rakesh Katare, have already joined the BJP, indicating a trend of defections within the state.

VD Sharma highlighted that some senior Congress members are unhappy with the party’s stance on issues like the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, suggesting a rift within the Congress ranks.

Nakul Nath’s discontent with the Congress was evident when he expressed disappointment over the party not confirming him as the candidate for the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat.

Despite the uncertainty, Nakul Nath declared himself as the Congress candidate for the upcoming elections, clarifying that his father, Kamal Nath, would not be contesting.

Chhindwara has historically been a stronghold for Kamal Nath, who held the seat for nine consecutive terms. In the 2019 elections, Nakul Nath managed to secure a victory from Chhindwara, the only seat won by the Congress in Madhya Pradesh.

The political landscape in Madhya Pradesh is witnessing significant shifts as key leaders consider their options amidst growing tensions within the Congress party. The potential defection of Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath to the BJP could have far-reaching implications for both parties in the state.

As per sources, some Congress members are unhappy about refuting the invitation to the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Several leaders have already switched to the BJP. However, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh denies the rumors, citing Kamal Nath’s long-standing loyalty to the party and the Gandhi family.

Digvijaya Singh said he talked to Kamal Nath, who is currently in Chhindwara. The situation is uncertain, with conflicting reports about potential defections from the Congress to the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.
