JioBook Laptop: Get New Jio 4G Affordable Laptop At Just ₹19,500

Jio has launched its new 4G laptop ‘JioBook’ on the Indian Government’s e Marketplace ‘GeM’ at an affordable price of Rs. 19500. This budget laptop runs on JioOS.

Reliance Jio has secretly unveiled its first laptop, albeit in a strange fashion, despite rumors that it wouldn’t find any buyers after the debut of 5G in India. If you’re a reseller, you can purchase the JioBook laptop right now through the Indian Government’s eMarketplace.

End users can still not purchase the laptop, and resellers can only purchase it in quantities starting at only one piece. Jio hasn’t made any announcements in this regard.

The JioBook essentially belongs to the netbook category, based on the marketplace listing. This indicates that the laptop was largely created with students’ educational needs in mind.

A single piece has a price tag that reads “Rs. 19,500” and only comes in one variant. It has a dark blue color, just like the JioPhone Next. Here is all the information you require regarding the JioBook laptop.

The JioBook seems to be a basic Windows notebook with the very minimum requirements to work as a netbook.

The listing indicates that the laptop is powered by JioOS, which is thought to be a low-end hardware-optimized version of Microsoft Windows.

Jio was previously known to be collaborating with Qualcomm and Microsoft to create this laptop.

JioOS could therefore handle some of the best-known Microsoft applications that have been modified to work effectively on outdated hardware.

The JioBook is a laptop with an ARM-based processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, which was common with entry-level Android phones in 2020 and 2021, is therefore used in the laptop.

As a result of the chipset’s support for 4G connectivity, Jio is able to include its 4G data services with the laptop.

32GB of eMMC storage and 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM are included with this Snapdragon 662. Performance on this Windows system won’t therefore be the main draw.

The laptop also has an 11.6-inch screen with thick bezels and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels; touch functionality is not available on this screen.

A trackpad and a small QWERTY keyboard are also included. There is also a pair of speakers. With the exception of the metal lid hinges, the entire laptop is composed of plastic.

The JioBook appears to be mostly intended for enterprise use in educational institutions where students cannot afford to purchase current, quick Windows laptops.

However, the JioBook faces competition from a few Chromebook laptops made by HP, Asus, and Lenovo that are similarly outfitted and utilize the quicker ChromeOS operating system.
