Jacqueline Fernandez Interrogated for 8 hours by Delhi Police

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez was questioned for eight hours by Delhi Police for the ₹200 Crore extortion case. Nora Fatehi is next to be interrogated.

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez was interrogated by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police on Wednesday for more than eight hours regarding an extortion case connected to imprisoned conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Around 11 a.m. the actress and her attorney arrived at the EOW office to participate in the investigation.

Pinki Irani, who is thought to have introduced Fernandez to Chandrashekar, was also with the actor.

Although Fernandez had previously been interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), who also listed her as an accused in their charge sheet.

This is the first time the Delhi Police have done so in relation to the $200 million fraud that Chandrashekhar perpetrated from inside Delhi’s Rohini jail.

The Bollywood actor was questioned by the investigation team about her accused relationship with Sukesh and the gift items she allegedly received from him. 

“We questioned her about the presents Sukesh gave her as well as other matters. Also called Pinky Irani, who had introduced Jacqueline to Sukesh. Jacqueline and Pinky will be called again, and then we will move as necessary,” ANI news agency cited Special Commissioner of Police (SPC) Ravindra Yadav as saying.

The actress was accused by the ED last month after they listed her as a defendant and claimed that she received presents from Chandrashekhar that he had purchased with the $200 million he had earned from the fraud. 

“Not only her but her family members and friends have gained out of the relationship financially. Thus, it can be fairly argued that the attraction of money meant that the criminal background of the person she was associating with did not matter,” the ED stated in its additional charge sheet on August 17.

Since Nora Fatehi, another Bollywood actress, also accepted presents from the con artist, she has been linked to the crime.

The actor was contacted on Thursday to answer questions. “Actor Nora Fatehi has been called tomorrow. Since Pinky Irani is here, we want to interrogate both of them tomorrow. There are some issues that require clarification. Regarding this instance, Nora and Jacqueline don’t have any direct connections,” explained Yadav.
