After Arvind Kejriwal appealed to print pictures of Hindu Gods on currency notes to boost the economy, several bollywood celebrities have criticized the statement.
Celebrities from the entertainment industry have responded to the Aam Aadmi Party’s call for the central government to print the images of the Hindu deities Lakshmi and Ganesh on banknotes.
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, made this plea for the first time in an address a few days prior, to which party leader Atishi Marlena responded in his defense.
Actors Nakuul Mehta and Gauahar Khan have already revealed how disappointed they are with the speech.
In order to boost the economy, Arvind Kejriwal wants the federal government to print images of the gods alongside those of Mahatma Gandhi on banknotes.
MLA Atishi responded when the statement received criticism by saying,
“You can continue to hate Arvind Kejriwal if you want to, but at least don’t hate Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. Don’t hate their blessings. Don’t hate this country’s prosperity at least.”
Nakuul Mehta also tweeted by sharing the video of Atishi’s statement,
And they all fall down.. EVENTUALLY. https://t.co/2pk7e4Q0PU

Gauahar Khan was also get hurt by AAP’s appeal. She expressed her criticism on Twitter, without mentioning Kejriwal or Atishi, she wrote,
Alas a leader who I thought was focused on development has fallen prey to the race of winning in politics. Religion is used only by the weakest kind of politicians . The greed of wanting to win a state election can make u so different. #sad Time to unfollow .

Previously, celebrities who had been supporters and even members of the AAP party had opposed the declaration.
Gul Panag, who once ran for Lok Sabha on the AAP ticket, tweeted about the issue,
“Whether it’s a means to an end or an end in itself – bringing religion into everything, is a game everyone will play now. And not just politicians! Those who disagree can keep invoking the Constitution, in vain.”
Vishal Dadlani, a well-known supporter of the AAP party and Kejriwal, posted subtle criticisms about them on social media.
Several Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress political figures have also opposed this appeal in the meantime.
