Is Vidyut Jammwal’s Upcoming ‘IB 71’ Based On A Real Story?

Vidyut Jammwal is portrayed as an ambitious undercover agent in the film IB 71. The film marks his debut project as a producer under his banner Action Hero Films.

Vidyut Jammwal’s upcoming movie ‘IB 71’ is based on a true story. The story revolves around a covert mission conducted by Indian Intelligence Officers who outwitted the entire Pakistani establishment, which gave Indian armed forces the required advantage to face a two-front war. 

The film is said to be inspired by a true incident that took place during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The movie’s plot is based on a top secret mission conducted by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in which they played a crucial role in the victory of the Indian armed forces. 

The film’s teaser and the first look reveal that the story is about India’s unsung heroes who played a significant role in the country’s defense during the war. 

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Action Hero Films, and Reliance Entertainment, co-produced by Abbas Sayyed, and presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Film, and Reliance Entertainment. 

The movie is directed by Sankalp Reddy, who is best known for the national award-winning war movie ‘Ghazi’. 

The film stars Vidyut Jammwal in the lead role of an Intelligence Officer, along with Anupam Kher and Vishal Jethwa in pivotal roles. ‘IB 71’ is slated for a theatrical release on May 12, 2023.

The teaser of Vidyut Jammwal’s upcoming film ‘IB 71’ was unveiled on April 15, revealing the first look of the espionage-thriller set to release on May 12.

The teaser, which was shared on YouTube and on social media by the actor, highlights India’s most confidential mission that helped the nation win the 1971 war. 

The film, directed by Sankalp Reddy, delves into the world of undercover operations and stars Anupam Kher and Vishal Jethwa alongside Jammwal. The project is backed by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Reliance Entertainment, and Abbas Sayyed.
