BGMI Ban: The PUBG game was rebranded as BGMI to re-enter the market after the PUBG ban. But again Indian govt. and Google have banned BGMI. Do you know why?
Additionally, the native version of PUBG Mobile, known as BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India), has been taken down from the Google Play Store as well as Apple App Store.
Similar to BGMI, Free Fire also abruptly vanished from the Google Play Store and hasn’t been seen since.

Despite the fact that PUBG Mobile has been outlawed in India, the game’s popularity has not diminished. Battlegrounds Mobile India, the renamed version of PUBG Mobile, is currently being discussed.
The Google Play Store and Apple App Store no longer have this Krafton game available. Both platforms have reportedly withdrawn this game in response to a government directive.
A murder mystery is what gave rise to PUBG Mobile or BGMI. Recently, a case came to light in which it was claimed that a 16-year-old kid killed his mother as a result of playing a “online game like PUBG.”
He told the reason behind murder which was literally shocking. He said that her mother used to forbid him from playing games.
When the issue was brought up in Parliament, the government declared that the Ministry of Home Affairs is looking into it.
According to the authorities, certain apps that were previously banned have re-entered the Indian market under a different name.
Examining it is the Ministry of Home Affairs. V Vijayasai Reddy, a Rajya Sabha MP, questioned this last week.

Yes, BGMI also got banned in India, like PUBG and Free Fire. The Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar said,
“MeitY has received many reports and complaints, in which it has been told that the apps which were blocked are returning in the market with a different name, brand or avatar. All these reports and complaints have been sent to MHA for investigation.”
BGMI was no different. The PUBG owned company has relaunched their same product with a different brand (i.e. BGMI) after getting banned.
Krafton (earlier Bluehole Studio) is a South Korean company which owns several games including PUBG, Battlegrounds, Elyon, New State Mobile and so on.

When governments of different countries and Google banned several apps & games, this company started trying to re-enter the market with similar games with different names.
The representative for Krafton has also commented on this. He has stated that he is confirming that BGMI is taken down from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Google also claimed to have informed Krafton prior to taking the game down.
