Franchises are preparing to announce their IPL 2025 Retentions on the deadline day of October 31. If the rules are taken into consideration, a franchise can retain atmost six players, either in the retention phase or through the Right-To-Match card during mega auction.
Each team’s six-player retention strategy can have a maximum of 5 capped and 2 uncapped players. There are no caps on the number of overseas players that can be retained. There is also a possibility of a team not retaining anyone and entering the IPL 2025 mega auction.
The ten franchises are supposed to fill in their IPL 2025 Retentions by the 5 pm IST deadline on Thursday. Star Sports and Sports 18 channels are going to telecast the event from 4 pm IST. You can use the Jio Cinema app to check out the live streaming.
The former Indian cricket team captain is the all-time leading run-scorer in the IPL. He has been a one franchise man since the inaugural season in 2008. There is a possibility of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) retaining him for Rs 20 crore.
Delhi Capitals (DC) is likely to retain Rishabh Pant for Rs 20 crore. But the skipper recently hinted at leaving his team and coming in the auction, reported NDTV. Pant has been a member of DC since his debut season in 2016.
Several media reports have been suggesting that Rohit Sharma could leave Mumbai Indians (MI). But a recent report claimed that the franchise is all set to retain the veteran batter, despite stripping him off his captaincy duties ahead of last season.
