Today in IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) have put up a target of 209 for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
KL Rahul won the toss and decided that his team would bowl first. Tristan Stubbs and Ishan Porel scored a good run of fifties for their team DC.
It was a must-win game for both teams as their Playoff hopes depended on this match. After today’s win DC is in the race of playoffs as it is on the 3rd of the points table.
Rajasthan Royals have got the biggest benefit from the victory of Delhi Capitals. With the defeat of Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals team has become the second team to qualify for the playoffs.

Ishant Sharma gave a match-winning performance and took 3 wickets for his team DC.
If we look at the batting performance, DC players performed excellently. The team scored 208 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk was out for zero, losing his first wicket soon after Abhishek Poral took the lead and scored 58 runs off 33 balls, Shai Hope 38 (27), Rishabh Pant 33 off 23 balls, and Tristan Stubbs 57 runs in the game.
Lucknow suffered a big blow in the beginning when captain KL Rahul was out after scoring just five runs in three balls. His shot off Ishant Sharma’s ball went wrong and Mukesh Kumar caught it. Shortly after this, the second opener Quinton de Kock was also out. After this, Marcus Stoinis got stumped while playing a big shot on the ball. At the same time, Deepak Hooda was caught in front of the wickets on the ball of Ishant Sharma. Nicholas Puran definitely tried to compensate by hitting some big shots, but Ayush Badoni lost his wicket in front. After this, Nicholas Puran was caught out by Akshar Patel on the ball of Mukesh Kumar.
