Inside IPL 2024 Auction: Latest Updates And Key Details Revealed

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is creating quite a buzz, and it’s no surprise given its popularity in India. The exact date for the IPL 2024 auction isn’t announced yet, but reports suggest it might happen in December. So, cricket fans should keep an eye out for the official announcement.

This time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering something new. They might hold the auction outside India, probably in the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. This would be a first for the IPL history!

Initially, BCCI had set November 15 as the deadline for teams to decide which players to keep and which to release. But, they’ve extended this deadline to November 26. This extension comes right after the ODI World Cup 2023 final. It gives teams more time to make their decisions.

The BCCI is also upping the stakes by increasing the salary purse for teams. This year, each team will have ₹1000 crore to spend in the auction, which is ₹5 crore more than before. It means teams can bid more for their desired players.

Different teams have different amounts left for spending. For instance, Mumbai Indians have about ₹50 lakhs left, while Punjab Kings have a substantial sum of over ₹12 crores. This leftover amount will play a crucial role in how teams strategize for the auction.

Gautam Gambhir Returns To KKR As Mentor

Gautam Gambhir is returning to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as a mentor for the upcoming IPL 2024. He used to play for KKR and led them to two IPL victories. Recently, he was mentoring the Lucknow Super Giants and did a good job there.

Gambhir is excited to rejoin KKR, a team he has deep connections with. Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of KKR, is happy to have him back.

Gambhir thanked everyone at Lucknow Super Giants for their support and wished them well for the future. This move is big news for KKR fans as they prepare for the next IPL season.
