Out of so many fruits, mango and watermelon are the most loved summer fruits. Especially watermelon because it gives us energy and keeps us hydrated and is also very delicious. But nowadays no fruit comes in its natural form. The watermelon that you are eating might be injected to make it sweet and red from the inside. Watermelons are injected with chemicals to make them look more tempting and taste sweeter.

Viral Watermelon Video

A video is getting so much viral on social media where a man covering his face with a mask is practicing the same social experiment of injecting a watermelon. The video was posted on the social media account of The Social Junction where the man was seen injecting the watermelon with chemicals.

This is not the only video you will see, but many videos involving the same practices of injecting a watermelon to make it sweeter and red will surely come into your Instagram feeds.

Why Are Watermelons Being Injected?

Injected watermelons can be very harmful to any person’s health. The main reason why watermelons are injected is to increase the speed of the growth of watermelon, to make it more sweeter, and to make it more red from the inside. These injected watermelons are very risky if consumed. During summers the demand for watermelons rises because sellers inject the watermelon with chemicals like Erythrosin-B, Oxytocin, Carbide, and artificial dye to make it more red from the inside and sweeter.

Injected Watermelons Are Injurious To Health

Eating injected watermelons can pose a great threat to the health of an individual. Acetylene Gas is used in injected watermelons which can cause severe problems like weakness, vomiting, skin ulcers, and various other problems including memory loss and headaches. Eating injected watermelon may also cause food poisoning and can harm the liver and kidney functions.
