Indonesia Open 2023: Satwik-Chirag, Srikanth, Prannoy Enter Quarterfinals

Satwiksairaj Ranikreddy and Chirag Shetty , the world No. 5 men’s doubles pair and Birmingham Commonwealth Games champions, emerged victorious at the Indonesia Open on Thursday.

The duo defeated China’s He Ji Ting and Zhou Hao Dong with a score of 21-17, 21-15 in a match that lasted just 46 minutes.

The Indian pair’s impressive performance has left fans and spectators in awe, as they continue to dominate the world of badminton.

In a thrilling match, the duo of Satwik and Chirag secured their place in the quarterfinals. They will now face the top-seeded pair of Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

The upcoming match promises to be an exciting one as both teams are expected to bring their A-game to the court. Fans are eagerly waiting to see who will come out on top in this highly anticipated quarterfinal match.

Indian badminton players Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy have advanced to the quarterfinals of the men’s singles event with impressive straight-game wins.

In a thrilling all-Indian second-round match, Srikanth displayed his expertise by defeating Lakshya Sen with a score of 21-17, 22-20 in a 45-minute encounter. The intense match showcased Srikanth’s experience and skill in the sport.

Prannoy, the seventh seed, defeated Angus Ng Ka Long from Hong Kong in just 43 minutes. With a score of 21-18, 21-16, Prannoy dominated the match and emerged victorious.

PV Sindhu, a double Olympic medalist, was eliminated from the tournament after losing to Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the second round of the women’s singles competition.

This marks another defeat for Sindhu against her long-standing rival. Tai Tzu emerged victorious over Sindhu with a scoreline of 21-18, 21-16, further solidifying her dominant head-to-head record of 19-5 against her opponent.

Indian rising star Priyanshu Rajawat went head-to-head with Indonesian player Anthony Ginting. In a thrilling match that lasted for one hour and three minutes, Rajawat’s campaign came to an end in the pre-quarters.

Despite putting up a valiant effort, he ultimately succumbed to Ginting’s superior skill and experience. In an intense match, Ginting emerged victorious with a final score of 22-20, 15-21, 15-21. Rajawat made a comeback from a 5-12 deficit to win the first game against a formidable opponent.
