India’s Parliament To Shift To New Building, PM Modi Reflects

Tomorrow’s sunrise will witness the new chapter of India’s political landscape, as the Parliament is going to shift in the new building on 19th October.

The political leaders of India are saying farewell to the old parliament building which became the witness of India’s democratic journey for 7 decades.

On 19 September, the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Members of Parliament are going to start their regular working session in the new Parliament building.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha during a special session, which was his last speech in the old Parliament building.

His speech was filled with pride and appreciation. He recalled several significant milestones in the parliament’s history, including his own political journey.

PM Modi acknowledged the contributions of past leaders including Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jawaharlal Nehru, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, P V Narasimha Rao, and others.

He also recalled the statement of Vajpayee who had stated, “Governments will come and go, parties will form and dissolve, but this nation must remain.”

The Prime Minister praised the unity and trust of the country during the 75 years of Independence. He said that the country proved wrong to all the naysayers, who didn’t believe in the growth of the country.

He also paid tribute to all the defenders who protected the parliament in the 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament. He considers the Parliament as the mother and temple of democracy.

The Indian Prime Minister also shared his personal journey saying that he never imagined that being a child from a poor family, living on a railway platform, would one day enter Parliament. He is so grateful towards the people for getting so much respect, trust and love.

The inauguration of the new parliament building is set to embark a new phase of India’s growth and development. The PM also expressed his hope and confidence in the country’s future.

The special session of Parliament will also embark on the celebrations of the 75 years of India’s independence.

The Parliament Building will showcase the achievements of all Indian citizens as well as India’s leadership in the sectors of technology & science. It is the collective achievement of its 1.4 billion people including the political leaders with great intentions.
