India’s Jehan Daruvala Wins Maiden F2 Sprint Feature Race In Monza

Indian F2 driver Jehan Daruvala ranked 3rd in the F2 sprint race in Italy’s Monza. He expressed his happiness & pride about India’s win in the F2 sprint race.

Jehan Daruvala won his debut F2 feature race at Monza, Italy, on Sunday courtesy of a spectacular performance on the track. The Prema rider ranked 3rd in the sprint after three difficult rounds.

With 31 points from this past weekend, he secured fifth position with 126 points overall. He still has a chance to take third position in the championship at the time of the final round in Abu Dhabi in November 2022.

The Indian driver is competing in Formula 2 for the third and most likely final time.

He recently drove a Formula 1 vehicle for McLaren, but it now appears impossible for him to secure a race spot for the upcoming season.

With this significant triumph, the 23-year-old driver became the first F2 driver to win a Feature race and added his fourth F2 victory to his overall career total.

Surprisingly, Daruvala placed first in Monza last year as well, as he took first place in the second sprint event.

Additionally, the Indian won again at Monza after winning there the previous year, giving him a total of six top-three finishes there.

After the race, Jehan Daruvala said,

“Wow, what a weekend! It has taken a while to happen. This year, we’ve had more than one victory taken away from us for various reasons.

But we persisted, continued pushing, kept believing, and we succeeded in the end.”

“And this is such a fantastic venue to have it!” The Indian national anthem is playing as I stand on the top step of this magnificent platform overlooking the main straight at Monza, one of my all-time favorite tracks. It feels so, so special.”
