According to a source, the Ministry of Electronics and IT is preparing to link ChatGPT with WhatsApp to assist Indian farmers in understanding and becoming familiar with a number of government programs.

Notably, a story from The Indian Express claims that the Meity team at Bhashini is testing the ChatGPT-powered WhatsApp chatbot.

According to the study, a WhatsApp chatbot powered by ChatGPT will assist users by responding to questions delivered as voice notes.

It will be especially helpful for Indian farmers who may not be accustomed to typing on cell phones.

Remarkably, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also stated at the World Economic Forum that Indian farmers will soon be able to use a GPT interface to access a government programme online.

The source also states that Nadella was shown a ChatGPT model that powers the WhatsApp chatbot.

However, because the AI software only supports inputs fed in English at this time and does not support local languages, it may take some time for ChatGPT for Farmers to integrate with WhatsApp.

An insider also told the publication that in order to train the AI chatbot on the various regional Indian languages, substantial datasets of those languages need to be developed.
