Indian Railways Launches Special Trains For World Cup 2023 Fans

Indian Railways has announced special train services for cricket enthusiasts traveling to Ahmedabad for the World Cup final. 

These trains are a relief, especially with all regular train reservations being full and airfares shooting up. These special trains, departing from Delhi and Mumbai, are priced much lower than the inflated airfares. 

For example, a sleeper class ticket costs Rs 620, 3AC economy at Rs 1,525, standard 3AC at Rs 1,665, and first-class AC at Rs 3,490. In comparison, airfares are ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000.

Cricket fans can book tickets for these special train services online through the official website. These trains are designed to accommodate the surge in travelers and offer a more affordable alternative to the high airfares.

Hotel Prices: ₹1 Lakh To ₹4 Lakhs

Hotel prices in Ahmedabad have skyrocketed too due to the final match. Luxury hotels like Vivanta Ahmedabad, Courtyard By Marriott, Taj Skyline, and others are charging exceptionally high rates for their rooms. 

Prices range from Rs 100,000 to over Rs 400,000 for a two-night stay, with some including complimentary services like airport transfers and breakfast. These prices are significantly higher than usual. You can analyze the high demand for accommodation during such a sports event.

Flight Tickets: ₹35k To ₹65k

Flight prices have soared due to the massive demand from fans traveling to the final. For instance, a round trip from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on IndiGo is priced at Rs 45,153, while from Delhi on AirIndia and IndiGo, it’s Rs 37,274. 

Bengaluru to Ahmedabad on IndiGo is even higher at Rs 65,998. These rates are quite steep compared to regular prices, indicating a surge in demand.
