Indian-Origin Laxman Narasimhan Takes Over As CEO of Starbucks

From being a polyglot to transforming brands Laxman Narasimhan went through an inspiring journey. He has become the new Starbucks CEO by succeeding Howard Schultz.

The new CEO of Starbucks, Laxman Narasimhan, has declared that he has earned his barista certification. The new CEO has finished his four weeks of training and intends to keep learning from Starbucks’ partners (those who work at/with Starbucks) in order to make the business even better. 

Laxman Narasimhan was gaining barista certification at Starbucks while learning how to make coffee. Narasimhan said in his Thanksgiving speech that he was made to feel welcome in Starbucks locations in the UK, New York, Texas, and Washington. 

Additionally, he uploaded a video of himself working both in front and behind the coffee bar. 

Laxman claimed that everyone at the stores had assisted him in learning what it takes to keep the well-known Starbucks brand flying high. 

“This is not easy work, and all of the partners work so hard every day to provide a wonderful experience for one another and for our customers,” Narasimhan said, praising their dedication to one another and to the company’s customers. 

He expressed his gratitude to all of Starbucks’ employees and clients for sharing their unique experiences and insights with him. He wrote, “Learned so much from this, both in what we do well and what we need to do better. 

He expressed his pride in being a partner with Starbucks toward the conclusion of his letter of appreciation. 

Laxman Narasimhan will take over as CEO of Starbucks in April 2023. He will collaborate closely with interim CEO Howard Schultz while the company is still being run. 

He joined the growing group of executives with Indian ancestry working for major multinational companies like Google, Microsoft, and IBM. Before joining McKinsey, he had previously worked for PepsiCo.

He completed the majority of his education in Pune, where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. 

He then obtained an MBA from The Wharton School in the United States before joining McKinsey and Company, where he worked for 19 years.
