Indian Navy Rescues Hijacked Iranian Vessel By Pirates In Arabian Sea

The Indian Navy’s warship INS Sumitra has rescued an Iranian fishing vessel that had been hijacked by pirates in the Arabian Sea. This incident occurred near the east coast of Somalia.

The Navy received a distress call about the hijacking of the Iranian-flagged vessel named Iman, which had its crew taken hostage by pirates.

Responding quickly, INS Sumitra, which was on an anti-piracy mission in the region, located the hijacked vessel. The Navy followed standard procedures to ensure the pirates released the crew and the boat safely.

All 17 crew members and the boat were successfully freed. After the rescue, the vessel was checked thoroughly and allowed to continue its journey.

The Indian Navy’s INS Visakhapatnam has also responded to a distress call in the Gulf of Aden. The call came from the Marlin Luanda, a British oil tanker carrying Russian oil, which caught fire, possibly due to a drone strike by Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Despite China having a naval base nearby, it was the Indian Navy that reacted promptly to the emergency. The Indian Navy’s team managed to extinguish the fire on the merchant ship.

INS Sumitra and INS Visakhapatnam are important warships of the Indian Navy

INS Sumitra is an offshore patrol vessel. It’s like a police officer on the sea, patrolling and keeping an eye out for any illegal activities. It also helps in search and rescue operations.

INS Visakhapatnam is a guided-missile destroyer, a highly advanced guard for the sea. It’s equipped with powerful weapons and can detect and destroy enemy threats.

Both these ships play crucial roles in protecting India’s maritime interests and ensuring safety on the high seas. They are symbols of India’s naval strength and capability.

This successful operation again proved the Indian Navy’s power to maintain safety at sea, not just for Indian vessels but for all ships and sailors in the Indian Ocean region. Now the world is praising the Indian Navy’s capability and readiness to respond to such emergencies.

This incident received international praise, particularly for the Indian Navy’s quick and effective response. It’s being seen as a sign of India’s growing prowess and responsibility in international maritime security.
