Indian Embassy Asks Nationals To Leave Ukraine Due To Russia-Ukraine War

The Indian Embassy has asked all nationals living in Ukraine to leave the country asap due to the high rising tensions in the midst of Russia-Ukraine War.

The embassy has advised citizens not to visit the country in Eastern Europe by issuing a statement. Notably, tensions between Kyiv and Moscow have risen since Russia launched retaliatory missile strikes in a number of Ukrainian locations about two weeks ago.

On October 20, Ukraine decided to restrict energy use for the first time since the Russian invasion as a result of ongoing missile and drone raids that destroyed many power stations. There will be a restriction on the electricity supply from 7 am to 11 pm local time.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the president of Germany, canceled his trip to Ukraine on October 19 for security reasons.

President Joe Biden announced a range of penalties and criminal charges relating to plans to get military equipment from the US and give it to Russia for use in the conflict in Ukraine on 19th October.

On October 19, Ukraine accused Iran of breaking the UNSC’s ban on the transfer of drones with a 300-kilometer range.

Additionally, it invited UN representatives to examine drones it suspected Russia was using to attack civilian areas and were of Iranian origin.

The very same day Russian President Vladimir Putin imposed martial law in four districts that his country had acquired from Ukraine.

Additionally, the Russian government is getting ready to impose stricter regulations and crackdowns in these areas.

A Russian politician encouraged the government’s organizations to stop using WhatsApp. The industry ministry also aimed to encourage locally developed software while avoiding Western technologies.

As tensions rise, Russia-backed officials in Kherson plan to evacuate between 50,000 and 60,000 people over the period of the next 6 days.
