Indian Army Boosts Power With Women Pilots And Hi-Tech Drones

The Indian Army is making big changes to its Aviation Corps. This is the part of the Army that handles all the flying – like helicopters and drones. 

They are planning to bring in more and better equipment to make sure they can support ground troops more effectively from the air. 

This includes new helicopters, drones that can be controlled from far away, and missiles that can be launched from these helicopters.

One big addition is the Apache attack helicopters. These are very powerful and have been used by armies around the world. The Indian Army is getting these soon. They’re also going to replace their old Cheetah and Chetak helicopters with new, modern ones in the next ten years.

Now, why is this happening? A couple of years back, in 2020, there was a tense situation between India and China in the area called eastern Ladakh. 

Since then, the Army has been setting up new groups, called brigades, especially along the borders with China and Pakistan. These brigades will have these new flying machines to help them keep a watch and be ready if there’s trouble.

In addition to helicopters, the Army is getting new drones called Heron Mark-2 and Hermes-900 Starliner. These are like flying cameras that can see far and wide, which will help the Army keep an eye on things without putting soldiers in danger. These drones can also work with the helicopters to help during fights.

The Army has been using older drones, but these new ones are much better and can do a lot more. This big update in equipment is going to make the Army Aviation Corps a lot stronger and more helpful during battles.

The women officers are becoming a bigger part of the Army Aviation. They started joining the air traffic control and engineering teams a while back, and now they are also becoming pilots, which is great progress.

This is a big step for the Indian Army to make sure they stay strong and can protect the country well, with better tools and giving equal opportunities to women officers too.
