Due to a sudden overnight change in the regime of Afghanistan as the Taliban takes control of Kabul, India, after 24 hours of negotiations, was able to evacuate the second batch of officials, journalists and diplomats.

Indian Air Force C-17 heavy-lift aircraft flew from Hamid Karzai Airport around 8 am Kabul time and landed in Gujarat’s Jamnagar at 11.15 am. This is the second evacuation flight from Afghanistan, and the officials were greeted by people present on the tarmac.

The airplane had taken off from Kabul, carrying Indian officials as a component of the emergency departure because of the dire situation in Afghanistan’s capital city Kabul as the Taliban took control.

On Monday, the first batch of C-17 aircraft helped evacuate 40 individuals, including some staff from the Indian Embassy in Kabul. The Taliban initially stopped them while they were on the way to the airport. The Gujarat minister of state for food and civil supply, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, stated that on board would be provided with lunch.
