India vs South Africa Match: India Beat South Africa By 8 Wickets

Ind vs SA T20I Match Highlights: India defeated South Africa by 8 wickets. Rahul, Arshdeep & Suryakumar performed very well & led the team to win.

In the first of a three-match series at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, played their final T20 International assignment before the T20 World Cup 2022. 

After a thrilling three-match series victory against Australia, Rohit and team aimed to build on their success as they prepare for the World Cup later this year.

This is South Africa’s second trip to India for a T20I series in the past four months. The previous time the Men in Blue played the Proteas, the 5-match series finished in a 2-2 draw with the last game being rained out.

In the first T20 International here on Wednesday, Suryakumar Yadav (50 not out) as well as KL Rahul (51 not out) both scored unbeaten half-centuries to lead India to an eight-wickets victory over South Africa.

As the visitors struggled because of some excellent bowling from the Indians, Keshav Maharaj high-scored for South Africa with a 35-ball 41, whilst Aiden Markram and Wayne Parnell added 25 and 24 respectively.

With stats of 3/32, Arshdeep Singh was the standout Indian bowler, whereas Deepak Chahar and Harshal Patel both claimed two wickets.

The hosts quickly lost Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, but Rahul and Yadav led their team to victory.

India closes out in style with a six thanks to KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. With 8 wickets in hand, India wins the opening T20I. 

Following early strikes from Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma, both batsmen maintained their composure while chasing a meager 108 run goal. 

South Africa tried to make a strong recovery, scoring 107 runs after 20 overs after falling to 9/5 at one stage.
