India and New Zealand is playing test cricket in India, and it is the day four of the match. New Zealand started with the strong grip on the game but it began to slip after the powerful partnership of 113 runs by Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant. These star player of the match brought India back into the contest.
At lunch time when the rain stopped the play with India at 344/3, trailing by just 12 runs at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The overcast conditions, which had earlier favored New Zealand’s pacers, didn’t help them this time. Khan and Pant built on the solid foundation laid by Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. New Zealand captain Tom Latham turned to spinner Ajaz Patel after his fast bowlers struggled, and while Patel managed a couple of LBW calls against Pant, the Indian batter continued to play aggressively. Pant, promoted ahead of KL Rahul, reached his half-century in just 55 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes).
India, once trailing by 356 runs, now needs just 12 more to catch up, with seven wickets still in hand.
