India’s UT Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that India is going to launch its own Vehicle Rating System through the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program).
The Central Government of India has suggested a car evaluation program called Bharat NCAP to improve road safety in the country.
Under this scheme, vehicles in India will receive “Star Ratings” based on how well they perform in crash testing.
Nitin Gadkari, the union’s minister of transport, tweeted about this recent event. He wrote –
“I now approve the Draft GSR Notification to launch Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), wherein automobiles in India shall be given Star Ratings based upon their performance in Crash Tests.”
According to the UT minister, Bharat NCAP would prove to be a crucial tool in advancing the automobile sector and achieving the goal of making India the world’s foremost automobile hub.
