PM Modi emphasized that technology would continue to be a crucial driver of employment, especially in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

He praised India’s experience in creating numerous technology-related jobs during the previous transformation, particularly in cities like Indore, known for its startup ecosystem.

India’s Skill India Mission and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana were cited as examples of initiatives aimed at addressing this need.

The Prime Minister specifically mentioned the focus on Industry ‘Four Point O’ sectors, such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, and Drones.

During the pandemic, India’s frontline health workers demonstrated their skills and dedication, reflecting the country’s culture of service and compassion.

Regarding social protection, PM Modi suggested considering additional benefits like universal public health, food security, insurance, and pension programs in the framework to provide a more accurate picture of social protection coverage in India.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the gig and platform economy as a transformative factor in generating gainful employment, especially for the youth and empowering women economically.

India’s ‘eShram portal,’ with almost 280 million registrations, was mentioned as a valuable resource for targeted interventions and social protection for workers in the unorganized sector.
