The 2023 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships is set to take place from 15-31 March in New Delhi. India is going to host the event for the 3rd time in the tournament’s history.
The 2023 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in New Delhi, March 15-31. This is as India prepares to host the biennial tournament for the third consecutive time.
The Championships were first held in 2001. It was then repeated in India twice, in New Delhi in 2006 and 2018. India hosted the Women’s Youth World Championships 2017 in Guwahati.

The competition will be held in 12 weight categories: 48 kg; 50 kg; 52 kg; 54 kg. 56 kg. 60 kg. 63 kg. 66 kg. 70 kg. 75 kg. 81 kg. +81 kg. Registration will open soon.
The championships will be accompanied by the IBA and BFI. Indian women have won 39 medals and 10 golds in the 12 editions so far of the championship.
The tournament was last hosted by India in New Delhi in 2018. There were 277 participants from 62 countries and four medals won by Indians.
In recent years, boxing has seen a rapid rise in India. India consistently finishes amongst the top five in the multi-event and global competitions such as the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World Championships.
