India Successfully Tests Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile Agni-3

India has Agni-3 which is a Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile. The country conducted a successful test fire of Agni-3 for a predetermined range on 23rd November.

According to DRDO sources, India launched an Agni-3 training missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, off the coast of Odisha, successfully on Wednesday.

An official statement stated that the successful test was a component of the Strategic Forces Command’s regular user training launches, which were conducted for a specified range and validated the system’s operational parameters.

On Wednesday, India conducted a test launch of the Agni-3 intermediate-range ballistic missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

“On November 23, 2022, India successfully conducted a training launch of the Agni-3 intermediate-range ballistic missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. 

The effective test was a component of regular user training launches conducted by the Strategic Forces Command. 

The launch was conducted for a specified range and evaluated all system operational parameters, according to a statement from the ministry of defense.

The third Agni missile, Agni-3, was developed and debuted on July 9, 2006. But it ran into a technical problem and missed the objective, falling into the sea off the coast of Odisha. 

The missile has the capacity to travel 3,500 kilometers and deliver a nuclear warhead to its target.

During its second flight in 2007 and its third launch in a row in 2008, the Agni-3 missile was successfully tested.

This occurs one month after India successfully tested its homegrown Agni Prime medium-range ballistic missile from the coast of Odisha.

According to the Defence Research Development Organization, the missile’s attack range is between 1,000 km and 2,000 km.

The missile’s most recent test, which was also successful, was carried out on December 18 of last year from the same site.
