India Secures Spot in FIBA Asia Cup

The Indian guy’s basketball group has qualified for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, no matter dropping 84 to Lebanon in the qualifiers on Monday. This could be India’s fifth appearance at the continental event. Though India lost the game, their preceding wins against Iraq and Bahrain had been enough to book a berth in the Asia Cup, which was to be held in July in Indonesia.

India Starts Strong But Stumbles in the Fourth Quarter

The Indian team commenced strongly in opposition to Lebanon, leading 23-20 after the first sector. Captain Vishesh Bhriguvanshi scored 10 brief runs to give India the early advantage. Lebanon fought again within the 2nd sector, tying the sport 39-39 at halftime.

The see-saw warfare persisted after the break, with India preserving a slender 55-53 lead at the end of the third area. However, the Indian mission diminished within the fourth region as Lebanon outscored them 31–25. Amjyot Singh Gill led India with 26 points.

Despite the loss, educated Veselin Matic expressed delight with the crew’s overall performance in the qualifiers. India won two of their three games, which were sufficient to finish second in Group E and book their Asia Cup berth.

India Aims to Build on Recent Gains

This qualification comes on the back of India’s strong showing at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers in Bahrain’s final 12 months. India had completed a third of their organization, reaching a memorable victory over the Philippines.

The FIBA Asia Cup will provide some other possibilities for India to check itself in opposition to the continent’s best groups. As hosts of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers, India couldn’t participate in the most important match of the year.

India will look to build on its latest gains while the Asia Cup hints off in July. With a medal finish at the final Asian Games and constant upgrades in worldwide rankings, Indian basketball is on the rise. Young stars like Pritish Kokate and Pranav Prince will look to make a mark on the continental stage.
