India-Russia Trade Surpasses $50 Billion, Putin Invites Modi To Visit Russia

President Vladimir Putin of Russia has invited our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Russia next year. This invitation came when our External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, met Putin in Moscow. Putin expressed happiness that despite the world’s many problems, the relationship between India and Russia is growing stronger.

Putin said he’s looking forward to discussing important issues with Modi and exploring the future of India-Russia relations. He knows Modi wants to solve global problems peacefully, like the situation in Ukraine.

In terms of trade, Putin mentioned that business between India and Russia is increasing. This year, the growth is even more than last year. They are working on advanced technology projects. Jaishankar also talked about this, saying our trade with Russia is now over $50 billion. He wants this to continue and grow.

Jaishankar told Putin that Modi is excited to visit Russia next year. They will find a suitable date that works for both countries. Putin also wished India well for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, saying that the friendship between India and Russia will remain strong regardless of political changes.

India has been trying to find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine conflict. We’ve talked to both Putin and Ukraine’s President Zelensky. Modi has said that our time should not be defined by war.

Despite pressure from Western countries, India has continued buying Russian oil. This is because of the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia due to their actions in Ukraine.

Jaishankar, during his visit, said that India and Russia have a unique relationship that has stayed strong over many years. They trust each other a lot, which is why they work together in defense, space, and nuclear energy.
