India won the toss and chose to field Hardik Pandya. The number of overs was reduced to 12 in the opening match due to rain.
Ireland was set to Batting first, scoring 108 for 4 in their allotted overs with Harry Techter’s blistering half-century. Chasing a challenging target, India were bowled out for 111 in 9.2 overs.
Ireland lost three wickets for 22 runs. At this point, Tector and Larson Tucker joined the team. Tendulkar hit 64 off 33 balls to help the Indian bowling attack.
He hit six boundaries and three sixes. Tucker scored 18 runs off 16 balls with two fours.
India opener Deepak Hooda remained unbeaten on 47 off 29 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. He was assisted by Ishan Kishan (26 off 11 balls) and Hardik Pandya (24 off 12 balls).
Surya Kumar Yadav, playing in the third position, walked out without opening a run account.
Craig Young took two wickets for Ireland. For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each. India and Ireland play a two-match T20 series.
