This has been communicated by a top government official.

According to Dr. Arora, the population in the 12 to 14 age group is estimated to be around 7.5 crore. There is no requirement for new registration for the beneficiaries of precautionary Covid-19 vaccine dose, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has confirmed.

In Haryana, for example, health minister Anil Vij said that seven lakh children aged between 15-18 have been vaccinated against COVID-19, adding that children in this age group will not be allowed to attend physical classes without getting vaccination once the schools open. Previously, the Covid-19 vaccination to children had been stalled by the high court, on the pretext that clinical trials were important. The Centre, in the affidavit filed through standing counsel Anurag Ahluwalia, had said vaccination was the topmost priority of the government and all efforts were being made to achieve an objective of 100 per cent vaccination in the shortest time possible keeping the available resources in mind and availability of vaccine doses into consideration.
