India Jumps Five Places To 101 In Latest FIFA Rankings

India has climbed five spots to position 101 in the most recent FIFA rankings, its highest level in more than twenty years.

In the most recent FIFA rankings, India has risen five positions to take the 101st spot worldwide. This is the nation’s highest ranking in more than 20 years. India’s recent results, particularly their draws against Asian champions Qatar and their victories over Bangladesh and Nepal, are what led to the ranking.

The team’s impressive recent performances have contributed to India’s rise in the rankings. In a 2019 World Cup qualifier against Qatar, the team was able to secure a 0-0 draw, which was widely seen as a significant upset. They won 2-0 against Bangladesh and 2-1 against Nepal in friendly matches as a result.

India now occupies the top spot in the rankings for the first time since 1996. The previous high rating for the nation was 94, which it attained in 1996. Coach Igor Stimac, who adopted a new style of play that prioritizes possession and aggressive football, has been credited with the team’s recent success.

Fans and experts alike are celebrating the triumph of the Indian football team, seeing it as a sign that the nation’s footballing fortunes are improving. Although cricket has long been the national sport, there is a growing interest in football, especially among the younger population.

The Indian football authorities have been putting a lot of effort into promoting the game and enhancing the facilities for it.

The Indian Super League has been a huge success, bringing in some of the biggest names in football and helping to increase the sport’s popularity in the nation.

The Indian football squad will be seeking to build on recent success and keep up their outstanding achievements in the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.
