“India from Above” the Dev Patel narrated series to be aired on National Geographic

  The Slumdog Millionaire actor, Dev Patel’s narrated two-episode special series on India is to be aired on August 14 and 15 on National Geographic. This is a part of India’s 74^th Independence Day celebrations. The series is going to showcase India’s glory highlighting the geographical, technological, cultural and historical aspects of the country. The two part series has been shot over one year to cover all four seasons in the country across different terrains in India.

The show that is narrated by Indian actor Dev Patel who is based in Los Angeles, will explore the country’s modern achievements and their linkage to the mystic history and cultural roots.

Press release from National Geographic said, “From the magnificent display of devotion at the world’s largest religious gathering of Kumbh festival to the stunning spectacle of the monumental solar plant in Tamil Nadu, National Geographic’s bird’s-eye view truly reveals the best of India. In an age when India has the technology to launch missions into space, the series also highlights how the nation is careful to preserve the unique techniques pioneered in its rich heritage.”

Anuradha Aggarwal, the Head of Infotainment, English, and Kids, Star India, said that this series is a part of the channel’s global series that is focused on showcasing various parts of world with a fresh perspective.

The show is a collaborated production between National Geographic UK and Line Production and will be aired on August 14 and 15.
